Designing the wine label for the 99designs competition, "Wrightwood," was a creative endeavor that sought to capture the essence of elegance and sophistication. This hand-harvested, single vineyard wine is an Alicante Bouschet, a varietal once widely planted in California. Inspired by the rich history of the grape, I set out to create a design that pays homage to its roots.

The main illustration for the label is derived from the unique seedpod of the liquid amber trees, also known as sweetgums. These seedpods possess a distinctive beauty that perfectly aligns with the elegance and refinement of the Wrightwood wine. The intricate detailing of the liquid amber seedpod serves as the centerpiece, commanding attention and captivating the viewer with its natural allure.

The label serves as a testament to the varietal's legacy in California while portraying the wine's elegance and sophistication. It invites wine enthusiasts to indulge in a sensory journey, where the taste of the wine is harmoniously complemented by the artistic expression that adorns the bottle. Wrightwood stands as a symbol of the enduring connection between nature, history, and the world of fine wines.
